This week jurors in the R. Kelly child pornography case sat and watched the 25 minute sex tape that is at the base of R. Kelly’s trial. It is said that they judge gave the orders to draw the window shades of the court room and have the lights dimmed so the jurors could see the entire tape.

R. Kelly sat motionless as the tape played for everyone in the court room. It’s not like the whole world hasn’t see this tape a dozen times each but still many of the jurors were stunned by what they say.

R. Kelly is charged with 14 accounts of child porn and could serve up to 15 years in prison if he is convicted. This video tape could be the one thing that locks his case for him. It is alleged that the young girl in the video tape was only 13 years at the time. Although the prosecuting attorney is telling the jury that this is a vile man who could lay down and have sexual relations with an under aged girl the defense still holds on to the argument that the man on the tape is not R. Kelly and he is innocent.

In the eyes of the law R. Kelly is innocent until proven guilty so we will just have to wait and see what the jurors have to say about the situation and the case that is founded mostly on this 25 minute video.

David Cook wins American Idol

While the judges of American Idol almost crowned young singer David Archuleta the night before the season finale, the votes that came in from the American public spoke in a different way.

With well over 12 million votes coming in, the American people spoke and spoke loudly that they wanted David Cook, a 25 year old from Blue Springs, MO. to be the next winner of American Idol. Once his name was announced his eyes immediately filled with tears and you could tell that he was over come with joy.

So although the young David Archuleta was showered all season long with praise from the judges the online gurus of American Idol never gave up hope that David Cook would come out on top. This time around the winner proved the judges wrong. Although before the winner was announces Simon Cowell addressed Cook by saying that he really felt this time around either contestant had the ability to be the next American Idol.

The season ratings for American Idol have been down all season but for the season finale the ratings were up over 3% from last years finale. So that could be why the all the votes came in giving young David Archuleta 44% while David Cook passed him by with a whopping 56%. Now we just have to play the wait and see game to see what will happen with David Cook and whether his career will really take off or if he will just be another American Idol winner.

Kristi Yamaguchi dances her way to a win on “Dancing with the Stars”

It appears that over the years of skating Kristi Yamaguchi has learned a few things about dancing. Last night her and partner Mark Ballas danced their way to a win. She is the first woman to win on the show Dancing with the Stars since the very first season, breaking the four year string of male winners.

It was clear for many people from the very start that Kristi Yamaguchi was going to be a strong contender to beat. But with the fact that men seem to be able to grab the audience was a tough challenge that Kristi gladly took on. The viewers of Dancing with the Stars is about 75% women so Kristi knew she was up against tough competitors and both Jason Taylor, a pro football star and Cristián de la Fuente, an actor, never hesitated to show off some skin for the female viewers every chance they got.

The season finale was filled with suspense as the three remaining teams took to the stage for one last performance. It was clear with a perfect score of 60 that Kristi and her partner Mark Ballas were very well deserving of being awarded the mirror ball trophy and winning the competition.
