So, first of all, bonus points if you know the song I playfully took liberties with right there, and second of all, one of the classically best finalists of American Idol, Ruben Studdard, seems to have been hit by Stupid Cupid and just Tuesday told the Associated Press that he’d be tying the knot with his girlfriend, Surata Zuri McCants for a Saturday wedding, this coming Saturday!

Man, way to keep that under wraps, way under. The only reason people found out was because they had to take out the marriage license and they did that Monday! So, the big huggable “Velvet Teddy Bear” of American Idol is now going to finally settle down with his lovely sweetheart, which means you’ll listen to any of his albums from after his win on the hit show in 2003 and you’ll think of the fact that he’s probably singing those dulcet tones to his woman. So does this mean there might be the pitter patter of little baby feet coming anytime in the near future? That is something we will have to just wait and see.

Hey, he’s got a pretty voice, and big and cuddly certainly isn’t a bad day. Seriously, though, I’m still amazed he kept it quiet for so long! Way to go, man!

David Cook wins American Idol

While the judges of American Idol almost crowned young singer David Archuleta the night before the season finale, the votes that came in from the American public spoke in a different way.

With well over 12 million votes coming in, the American people spoke and spoke loudly that they wanted David Cook, a 25 year old from Blue Springs, MO. to be the next winner of American Idol. Once his name was announced his eyes immediately filled with tears and you could tell that he was over come with joy.

So although the young David Archuleta was showered all season long with praise from the judges the online gurus of American Idol never gave up hope that David Cook would come out on top. This time around the winner proved the judges wrong. Although before the winner was announces Simon Cowell addressed Cook by saying that he really felt this time around either contestant had the ability to be the next American Idol.

The season ratings for American Idol have been down all season but for the season finale the ratings were up over 3% from last years finale. So that could be why the all the votes came in giving young David Archuleta 44% while David Cook passed him by with a whopping 56%. Now we just have to play the wait and see game to see what will happen with David Cook and whether his career will really take off or if he will just be another American Idol winner.
