The premiere of the film was held at Times Square AMC Theater. The film is based on the true story of the troubled life of Puerto Rican salsa star Hector Lavoe. Marc plays the role of Hector and Lopez plays Hector’s wife Pucci. The film tracks the passionate relationship of the couple over twenty years.

The movie has got mixed reviews. While the music said to be excellent with the couple having good on-screen chemistry, some say the plot is thin and there is not enough character development.

J Lo’s last movie ‘Gigli’ was a complete flop at the box office, lets hope this movie does not meet the same fate.
