Oh, god, I thought the Simple Life was nothing but simple Torture, but apparently, we have not had enough of Nicole Richie OR Paris Hilton. But… let me focus on one half of this Dastardly Duo here.

The girlfriend of Benji Madden of Good Charlotte (the band) and a mother now from Joel Madden, who is… Benji’s twin brother (Figure that one out) has now decided that we need a SECOND Nicole Ritchie. She just released to EW Hollywood that she has been trying to pitch an idea that’s going to make her travel around the country and choose seven girls from around the country who will then be tested, poked, prodded and generally submitted to the reality TV evaluation process. One of these girls will then be like Nicole Richie and become famous for… doing nothing.

Yeah, I know, it is, in fact, as truly terrifying as it sounds. Not only is Paris Hilton in talks to get her own little slice of TV hell, but now, so is Richie.

I think I need a big drink. Or some Alka Seltzer. Maybe both?

Nicole who is confirmed four months pregnant has decided to marry her boyfriend/Baby Daddy Joel Madden prior to her four day county jail term. The couple have decided to wed on September 21 and Nicole’s jail sentence starts from September 24-27 for her second Driving Under Influence.

“Joel said to Nicole, ‘Let’s get married before you go to jail,’” a source close to the couple tells Star Mag. “She was so happy. He’s doing this so she feels secure behind bars. The last thing he wants is for her to worry about where they’re at while she’s in jail.”

“They’ll most likely tie the knot at Joel’s mansion in Glendale, California, although Nicole’s dad, Lionel Richie, has offered his house in Bel-Air if they want to use it. The other, less public option is to head to Madden’s hometown near Annapolis, Maryland. “Joel doesn’t want a circus,” says a friend.

A judge sentenced Nicole Richie to serve four days in her choice of city or country jail for her second DUI, driving the wrong way conviction. She was credited the fifth day for the six hours she served after being arrested. She also has $2,048 in fines and go to an alcohol education course for 21 days and to serve three years probation. A pregnant Nicole arrived at court today with her boyfriend or maybe fiancée Joel Madden by her side.

Nicole must report to serve her time by September 28.
It shows that the law was a little easy on her as compared to Paris. Four days isn’t so bad for a second DUI conviction. Hopefully she won’t go on a hunger strike and go ballistic behind bars like Paris. She can survive four days with no cell phone, blackberry, or designer duds.

Nicole was issued a stern warning that if she drove drunk again and killed someone then she could be charged with murder in accordance to what she agreed to after her first DUI that if she drove under influence and killed someone she would be nailed for murder and not manslaughter.

Nicole Richie fate will now be decided till August due to absence of key witness in the case. LA Superior Court Commissioner granted a continuous giving the next date as 16th August. Nicole has been ordered to appear on that date. Richie’s lawyer appeared in court early to ask for the continuance on the case as their expert – Dr. Terence Sean McGee was unavailable to testify until next month due to vacation plans. The Commissioner told them to return today to argue the motion. Moments ago, a Commissioner approved their request and the case has been continued until August 16.

Lionel Richie is all for the defence of his adopted daughter Nicole’s wild ways. Nocile will stand trial on July11, 2007 as a result of her arrest for Driving Under the Influence on December 11 after the police atopped her for driving the wrong way on a California freeway. Lionel believed that it was typical behaviour of a rebellious 20 something.

He said in an interview with the USA Today newspaper: “She keeps apologizing to me. I told her, ‘You’re doing exactly what you’re supposed to be doing to your father at this age.’”
“She’s just in an unfortunate situation,” said father Lionel.

“There’s just so much information out there right now — MySpace, cell phones, the Internet,” he said. “If we had had all that when The Commodores were around, God only knows what my mother and father would have seen.”

The R&B singer said he’s thankful that, during his rise to fame, he wasn’t under as much scrutiny as celebrities are today.

The ‘Simple Life’ star Nicole Richie is claimed to be pregnant and the baby is due in January. Although her PR staff have so far not confirmed the news.

Sources claimed yesterday that Richie was indeed pregnant, with showbiz website TMZ.com independently confirming the news.

Richie’s PR staff have so far failed to confirm the news.

The 25-year-old daughter of Lionel Richie is facing a trial for driving under the influence – on the lines of her pal Paris Hilton – which could mean she could also face the jail.

If she is found guilty, Richie could face anything from five days to a year behind bars.

Richie has been seeing ‘Good Charlotte’ front man Joel Madden for some six months and they expect to wed soon. Her singer father is yet to know about the couple expecting a baby.
He has been quoted as saying ”I don’t know. She’ll let me know about it at the very last minute. I’m just hoping that it doesn’t cost me a fortune.”

Nicole Ritchie and newish beau Joel Madden cozied up Thursday night at a pool side bash for Yves St. Laurent and did something that made the tabloids check their pulse and mark their calendars: turned down alcoholic drinks! Not only that, but Nicole busted out a huge diamond rock and fed her future hubby lobster and lamb. He in turn kept her close by all night and whispered sweetly to her. Spies on the inside say that these questions ranged from “Are you doing ok?” to “How are you feeling?” Could these possible be the question of a doting father-to- be? And does the rock on her hand mean that a shotgun wedding is in the works? Only time will tell!

Pregnancy rumors have been circulating for a week now. Nicole was photographed showing a bit of tummy, but others wondered if this was just the distended belly of a starving girl. Of course, considering Nicole weighs next to nothing, it begs the question: how will that tiny body support a baby? But, in good news, she gets to share her 100 calories a day!

The possible DNA contributor is Joel Madden, ex-boyfriend of Hilary Duff (who last year called Nicole a skank, among other niceties). Joel is co-leader of the band Good Charlotte. Such a great boyfriend hookup on Nicole’s part promises lots of public fights, drug infested orgies and maybe even some tour dates!

Nicole’s had a great year, and a wedding and baby would only add to the excitement that comes with multiple DUI convictions, anorexia rumors, her best friend serving time, rehab stays and of course, The Simple Life Goes to Camp. Of course, she has to be hoping against hope that the little one keeps her from joining her BFF in jail. Two DUI’s in under 10 years qualifies the actress-mommy-anorexic for a 90 day stint right next to Paris!
